Retinal vein occlusion

Untitled design - 7.png

The retina at the back of the eye has arteries and veins that cross each other.

When arteriosclerosis occurs due to aging or lifestyle-related diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, the arteries press against the veins.

As a result, venous blood flow becomes poor, causing retinal hemorrhage and retinal edema (swelling), which can lead to a decrease in vision, a condition known as retinal vein occlusion.

Depending on the condition of the disease, treatments such as laser treatment and vitreous injections are available at our hospital.
